Vancouver, BC: Recess Global House Party For Racial Justice

Mar 25, 2017 @ 9:00 pm - Mar 26, 2017 @ 3:00 am

Recess Global House Party is back in Vancouver for it’s 2nd year and we are doubling down! New location with 2 room of music live streamed from dance Dj’s around the world! There will be a BLUES Room and a FUSION Room running all night long. Join the over 50 parties happening worldwide to dance for racial justice!

And it happens to line up so you can spend a rare whole weekend dancing in Vancouver. Start with Blues and dance your way into Fusion:
Fri: Bearcat Blues’ 1st Birthday Party
Sat: Global House Party: Fundraiser for Racial Justice
Sun: Coalescence – March 26th

ADMISSION is a meaningful donation to the cause but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We have a few volunteer slots if you cannot afford a donation. See Google Doc for availability.
DONATE ahead of time here: https://gaiapunkdesigns.typeform.com/to/DRO8Tt

Recess Productions Global House Party is a single night for our far-reaching community to come together and raise awareness, support, and money for racial justice — throwing an epic dance party in the process.

This is a decentralized event with individual hosts and events coordinating around a singular cause. There will be an online live stream of Blues music — ?playing at parties around the world — DJ’d from cities across the globe.

This event will be held on the occupied, traditional, ancestral, shared, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples—specifically the s?wx?wú7mesh (Squamish), sel?íl?witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and x?m??k??y??m (Musqueam) nations.

In recognition, proceeds from this event will be donated to the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society, which seeks to build and maintain connections between urban Aboriginal peoples and their traditional cultures. http://www.vafcs.org/

Accessibility check: Sadly, this venue is not easily accessible. It’s on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. If this is a problem for you and you would like to attend please msg us and we can likely work something out. Bathrooms are also slightly tight, but everything else is fairly level.
